Solution Architect

Position Summary

The Solution Architect is responsible for the global design and configuration of the solution and for translating client business requirements into a comprehensive technology blueprint. The Solution Architect is responsible for defining the vision that underlies the solution and for providing leadership and direction to the project team in translating that vision into the functional and technical elements required to implement it.

Responsibilities

  • Understand overarching business strategies and requirements and define the necessary designs and plans to ensure the solution satisfies those needs
  • Lead business process assessment and future state business process definition
  • Facilitate change management discussions with client related to migrating to future state and/or best practices
  • Bring industry and product best practices to the overall design approach
  • Produce functional design documents and coordinate with Technical Lead to marry functional design requirements with the overall technical design
  • Provide ongoing oversight to project team in the execution of delivery efforts
  • Engage with customer in a consultative capacity to provide insight into industry technology trends, best practices, and third party solution alternatives
  • Collaborate with Project Manager and other staff members to develop budgets and timelines for solutions
  • Coordinates with QA testing staff to ensure comprehensive test coverage, effective performance and load tests, timely resolution of issues, and other actions to assure delivery of quality software
  • Mentor, educate, and train colleagues
  • Engage with the product and industry user community through blogs, white papers, speaking engagements, and relationship building to understand technology trends, business challenges, and new entrants to the market
  • Participate in pre-sales activities
  • Build software partner and client relationships to generate future revenue opportunities
  • Maintain any required certifications and continuing education necessary to understand new product release capabilities, market or industry trends and general technology trends
